Sometimes things can get a bit out of hand on social media. But when you are a celebrity, it is pretty hard to take something back, or pretend an incident never happened, especially when you have millions of followers and journalists reading your feed every single day. Let’s look into the biggest (and craziest) celebrity twitter feuds to ever exist – grab some popcorn, and prepare for a bumpy ride!
1. Amber Rose and Khloé Kardashian
Things got nasty when Amber Rose called out Tyga for dating Khloé’s younger sister, Kylie, who, just in case you had forgotten, was underage when she started dating the rapper. When Khloé tried bringing Amber back down to Earth, she kindly reminded her of how Kim became famous – ouch!
2. Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik
One Direction fans’ hearts broke when they saw an online fight break out between former bandmates Louis and Zayn, following Zayn’s departure. After seeing that Zayn had teamed up with Naughty Boy, the genius behind Runnin’, Louis posted a series of tweets aiming Zayn, before Zayn finally confronted him with “remember when you had a life and stopped making bitchy comments about mine?”. Luckily, the boys have patched things up since, and there is no more bad blood between them.
3. Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj
When Nicki Minaj tweeted a comment about the VMAs in 2015, Taylor took it to heart. The self-proclaimed feminist accused Minaj of “pitting women against each other” when she tweeted that only women with slim bodies would win awards at the VMAs. Once Nicki explained what she meant, Taylor apologized and they sent hearts to each other and lived happily ever after… Until Swish Swish that is…
4. Iggy Azalea and Azealia Banks
If you are a frequent Twitter user, you can’t have gone a day in 2014/2015 without references to the Azalea and Banks spat. Things got kinda heated when Azealia was nominated for the Best Rap Album award at the 2015 Grammys, and she said of her rap rival, “she isn’t any better than any f***** black girl that’s rapping today.” After hearing the radio interview, Iggy came back with, “There are many black artists succeeding in all genres. The reason you haven’t is because of your piss poor attitude… you created your own unfortunate situation by being a bigot and don’t have the mental capacity to realize yet.” Things pretty much went downhill from there…
5. Lady Gaga and Kelly Osbourne
It was one of the most ridiculous Twitter arguments ever… over a birthday cake, seriously? But it sure lightened up our Twitter feeds. Lady Gaga appeared on The X Factor UK in October 2013 and for Kelly’s birthday, presented her mother Sharon, a judge on the talent show, with a birthday cake, trying to kiss and make up after a previous feud between the pair. When Kelly heard, she was a little skeptical, saying “Not to be ungrateful but why would you send me a birthday cake via my MOTHER in a country half the world away? #JustSendItToME #LoveNotWar”. Lady Gaga calmly responded, “I didn’t know it was your B-day until this afternoon. Meant as a peace offering. Happy Birthday.” Awkwaaaaard!
